Preventive Measures

    • Eliminate mosquito breeding grounds around the house.
    • Destroy all containers that can withstand rain or excess water, especially in basins, old tires, flower containers, plastic containers and barrels. If they cannot be destroyed, place the killer flies in the container.

How to prevent dengue?

There are currently no vaccines to treat dengue fever. However, efforts are being made to produce the vaccine.

  • Avoid mosquito bites with:.
  • Use mosquito repellent.
  • Use a mosquito net while sleeping. Use 'repellent' if necessary.
  • Avoid activity during mosquito bites (5.30am-8.00am and 5.30pm-8.00pm).
  • Wear long sleeves and long pants when leaving the house.
  • Place fine mesh (mosquito mesh) on windows and doors.

  • If your child is suspected to have dengue and is monitored as an outpatient (not admitted), take your child to the hospital / clinic immediately if:

    • Prolonged vomiting
    • Stomachache
    • Lack of lifespan / seizures
    • Breathing difficulty
    • Pale / cold hands and feet.
    • Bleeding: from gums / nose, blood vomiting, bloody stools and red marks on the skin.
